Sometimes you just really need a classic mystery novel for cozying up with in chilly weather šāļø
I love a book where the place is a character in a way. This novel takes place in a sleepy & small Midwestern farm town called Jericho & explores its dark past. šø

Juniper returns to Jericho, her hometown, to confront the very reason she left in the first place - to regain a relationship with her teenage daughter whoās been raised by her mother while also trying to find answers to an unsolved crime that disrupted her & her family's entire lives.
A decade earlier, Juniper's kinda and loving childhood neighbors were murdered, and although the case was never officially solved, the primary suspect was her younger brother. While her brother was never charged for the murders, the townspeople treat him as if he was anyways. Juniper attempts to find out the truth in hopes of clearing her brotherās name while also discovering secrets that change her life forever. However, she finds solving the mystery increasingly challenging as her brother begins to engage in questionable and suspicious activities upon her arrival.
Juniperās perspective switches from then (the time of the murders) & to the present, which I enjoyed because itās like youāre trying to put the puzzle pieces together with her along the way. You are given her perspective of the events that happened in her childhood and how they are following her into adulthood. š£
