The fun, fast-paced kind of thriller you can read in a weekend šŸƒ

The book takes place on Meroe Island, a remote destination with a dark history. Six different travelers arrive on the island by sailboat, all for their own reasons. ā›µļø

Upon meeting, things seem to be going swimmingly as the group eats, drinks, and sunbathes - enjoying being off the grid in this seemingly peaceful place. šŸ

However, things begin to take a turn for the worst when one member of the group goes missing. The visitors and their motives for visiting the island may be more sinister than they seem.

I loved this book! It made me want to take a tropical vacation making it the perfect vacay/beach read ā˜€ļø

P.S.: I just started the author, Rachel Hawkin’s book The Wife Upstairs and so far it’s just as good!

I found it interesting that the author created both books as ā€œmodern reimaginingsā€ of classic novels.

Reckless Girls is a spinoff of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, and The Wife Upstairs is playing off of Jane Eyre. The book jumps back and forth between the character named Jane, who begins working for and starting a relationship with an older, wealthy man whose wife has recently gone missing - and then to the perspective of the missing wife, whose presence is lingering over Jane’s new relationship in disturbing ways.

This is such a fun way to get a whole new modern story with some nostalgia for the classics!

If you read either titles, lmk your thoughts!
